Pilgrimage is supposed to be a journey undertaken on foot, with hardship and peril to boot. But in the New India, it is often undertaken in comfort of a helicopter that drops so-called pilgrims near their site of worship or their religious destination and then conveniently ferries them back. Carbon footprint and fossil fuel burn in the name of faith! Watch some great slow motion footage of helicopters plying in the Himachal Himalaya, during the Manimahesh Yatra near Bharmour. This footage is part of the professionally-shot broadcast stock footage archive of Wilderness Films India Ltd., the largest collection of HD imagery from South Asia.
