A self-proclaimed representative of Rajput caste, Karni Sena wants a ban on period drama fearing it might distort history. Bollywood movie Padmavati is at the centre of a political storm in India after protests from the dominant Rajput caste group in the western state of Rajasthan. The period drama set in the 14th century has enraged the Rajput group who want the film to be banned for allegedly "disrespecting the sentiments of the community". In order to protest and call Bharat Bandh, Karni Sena attack a school bus and injures many students in Gurgaon.
