Sanjeev Puri says "Agnipankh actually was born as a serial in all fairness. I was thinking of making a big mega-serial where we would be able to use planers and their facilities. We made a seven and a half minute to eight-minute promo which we shot in Pune with the Sukhoi Su-30. After having a look at it there was a serious discussion with the producer and they realised that this subject is too big to be wasted on a small screen."
