Narendra Modi supporters sing the Hanuman Chalisa on the verdict day of Elections 2024 at the BJP Party office in New Delhi, to the sounding of conch shells (shankh), with media persons craning their cameras to look in and record the optimism and religiosity or rather religious overtones of the purely political occasion. Chants of 'Modiji ki garantee / guarantee' and 'Jai Siya Ram' and Jai Shri Ram' rent the air, with clapping and much jingoism. Kids and mothers join in to the celebrations, making it a religious and family occasion as well as a political one. All the while, the tally and tabulation of election seats runs on a LCD screen behind them. Supporters wear Modi masks and clap along! Lots of arms in the air, and sweaty aimpits to boot, in the boiling summer of June 2024 in Delhi -
