Arunachal Pradesh vignettes - A stream rushes past in a high altitude village, below a little foot bridge, the water gurgling past reeds and grasses in the fields around. The water is also used to turn the axle of a wheat processor-grinder. Monks rotate prayer wheels at the Tawang monastery, clouds speed past the roof, and the Buddha Mahotsav takes place at Tawang, in the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh, India. Arunachal Pradesh is a state of India, located in the far northeast. It borders the states of Assam and Nagaland to the south, and shares international borders with Burma in the east, Bhutan in the west, andTibet (now occupied by the People's Republic of China) in the north. The majority of the territory is claimed by the People's Republic of China as part of South Tibet.
