A roaming herd of Wild Asses plod through the salt pans covered with Prosopis juliflora trees and slight grasslands. Meanwhile, a big male Blue bull or nilgai stares at the Wild Asses. The Blue bull is really an antelope unlike what its Hindi translation suggests (that it might be a cow - nil gai or blue cow). Wild Asses (Equus hemionus khur) in Little Rann of Kutch, Gujarat, India. The Indian wild ass had a range that once extended from western India, through Sindh and Baluchistan, Afghanistan, and south-eastern Iran. Today, its last habitat comprises the Indian Wild Ass Sanctuary, Little Rann of Kutch and the surrounding areas of the Greater Rann of Kutch in Gujarat.
