Miniature casts of goddess Saraswati are painted by an artist at his workshop ahead of the Saraswati Puja in late winter. These idols will be immersed in water bodies after the necessary rituals of welcoming spring the Hindu way. A multitude of bright colours is used to make the goddess's idols look life like.
