Bluebull or nilgai (Boselaphus tragocamelus) is a common and widespread species of antelope in India, mostly saved by the fact that their Hindi name translated as 'Blue cow', so despite being a highly poaching-worthy antelope species, the Hindu reverence for cows has saved them! Antelope is a term referring to many even-toed ungulate species found all over the world in places such as Africa, Asia, and North America. The term refers to a 'miscellaneous' group within the family encompassing the old-world species which are not cattle, sheep, buffalo, bison, or goats. A group of antelope is called a herd. Dhawa Doli Wildlife Sanctuary: 40 km south west of Jodhpur, this sanctuary shelters blackbuck, partridges, desert fox and nilgai. This footage is part of the professionally-shot stock footage
