Large number of crowd can be seen at Harshat Mata temple. Local people come for worshipping goddess in this temple. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga, known as Harshat / Hashat Mata- the Goddess who spreads happiness. According to the experts the temple structure dates back to 10th century. While many others believe it was built during the reign of Bhoja-the Gurjjar ruler of the 9nth century. The massive temple with amazing architecture is now in ruins; and currently under the control of Archeological Survey of India (ASI). The village of Abhaneri, in which the temple is situated, is also famous for Baoris or step wells. It's a the unique invention of the natives for harvesting rain water.
