The Japanese consumer electronics giant Matsushita Electric Industrial company launched it's Indian branch this week to manufacture and distribute its world-famous Panasonic brand of color television sets and audio products in India. The new company is called the National Panasonic India Private Limited. Matsushita which is the world's largest television maker and has sold over 150 milion sets so far has targeted a turnover of one billion dollars or 30 billion rupees by the year 2000. The organisers of AVEXPO 95, the international audio-visual exposition announced the dates of the expo at a press conference this week in Bombay.
