Mizo youth perform the 'Pawhlohtlawh' during the annual traditional Chapchar Kut in Mizoram. Pawhlohtlawh is a national dance of Lai tribe. As a dance of delight and gaiety, Pawhlohtlawh is performed on any day of celebrations and social gatherings eg. victorious ceremony, public feast, festival, marriage day, jubilee, carnival etc. This emotional dance conveys the spirit of freedom, peace and love. The Chapchar Kut Festival is a festival of Mizoram, India. It is celebrated during March after completion of their most arduous task of Jhum operation i.e., jungle-clearing (clearing of the remnants of burning).
