An interview with Namrata Thapa, Director, Directorate of Handicraft and Handloom Institute, Sikkim. She takes the interviewer through the various projects and the training programs of the institute. The institute holds an important number of artworks of national and international award recipients. The institute acts as a museum for the traditional arts and crafts of Sikkim and is also one of the many tourist attractions. The institute provides skill training and also aims at providing more employment opportunities for the artisans. She also talks about the dignity of labour and respect for the rural artisans. She mentions the various exhibitions for the promotion of traditional arts and crafts of Sikkim and the awareness among rural artisans and also for exchanging ideas among craftsmen.
