Windsurfing has become a major sport worldwide in about the last ten years. It began in Hawaii when surfer wanted some extra novelty and they decided to put a sail on their surfboards, so, basically when surfing is a shortboard maybe 2 to 3 meters in length with a sail attached. its a one-man sport unlike dinghy sailing only one person at a time normally goes on windsurfing. I think it becomes popular because a lot of youngsters can afford for the equipment and it's easy to sail from home as long as you have water nearby..."
