Viewer caution recommended - May be of a graphic nature.. Not for the faint hearted, this video shows a cold blooded butcher of a cow in India. Slaughter of a cow in north-east India. The knife or dao is first sharpened on a rock. This takes place in Manipur, India. There may be cruelty involved, but this animal is killed purely for its meat and not for recreation, so its actually an age-old cultural practice and food institution in the region. First the back-bone is hit, then the neck. Blood is spewing out all over. The heart of the cow is still pumping long after the animal is clinically dead. Every part of the animal is used - the hooves are used to make gelatine. The bones are used to polish sugar, or at least that was earlier done. The skin becomes leather and the meat is eaten. So no
