INTACH’s mission to conserve heritage is based on the belief that living in harmony with heritage enhances the quality of life, and it is the duty of every citizen of India as laid down in the Constitution of India. Recognizing the importance of heritage education in spreading awareness among the people, INTACH set up the Heritage Education and Communication Service (HECS) in 1998. Since its inception HECS is working to create awareness among different target groups such as the public, professionals, city and local authorities, INTACH Chapters, school and college teachers, students, and heritage enthusiasts.
