Stacks of baked orange bricks lie near a bhatti kiln in north India, with the chimney itself ironically made of bricks! What lovely kheti all around, in monsoon greenery and profusion... with Cattle Egret flocks flying past the giant chimney. One approaches the Sakoti Tanda railway line from the Delhi side and then climbs onto a flyover that goes across the train line. The trains head from Delhi to Dehra dun and this is also the NH54 highway that takes one to Deoband and on to Dehradun or towards the Garhwal Himalayan entry at Rishikesh. We used to stop by the old railway line phatak gate with the manual train gate opening and messaging system, en route Landour and Mussoorie. Daurala is nearby.
