A camel jockey rides his camel around the camel rink at the Pushkar Mela or Camel fair in Rajasthan. The Camel seems to respond well to his commands, prancing around, and this is a huge tourism attraction, but the question really is as to whether it is fair to train camels in this fashion. Would this classify as animal cruelty or is it no different from trained show horses, and thus a permissible activity or sport? The trainer does whip his camel once, to goad him along... And the camels are made to kneel down to get the rider off.
