LK Advani arrives in Guwahati to meet the governor of the state and political leaders to discuss the growing illegal immigrants in the state and their legitimacy of being citizens of India. He talks of assigning non-citizen residents and the need to assign a different identity paper as work permits to the immigrants. He also says that the Center would be happy to assist the state if the need arises to tackle the problem of the armed insurgent group ULFA.
