Devotees perform the final prayers and aarti, with offerings and incense smoke surrounding the shrine. At the riverbank, men wearing saffron headbands wade into the water with offerings as helpers carry the Durga idol for immersion. Crowds gather in the streets with red vermilion on their faces, while some participants dance during the farewell celebrations. Face masks worn by many attendees reflect the pandemic-era setting of the festival.
