Hadimba Temple in Manali is one of the major tourist attractions. It is a four storey wooden temple. Located in the middle of a dense forest called Van Vihar - from the name of the forest itself the temple drives its name. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Hadimba and was erected in 1553. There are lots of hotels in Manali which are near Hadimba temple. Hadimba in Mahabharat has been idolized and worshipped in this particular area. In Mahabharats, a few of the sub mountainous tracts of the Himalayas were ruled by Hadimb Rakshah. Hadimba was his sister.
