A large male Yak enjoys wallowing in dry mud while the entire herd walks along a tarmac road in Kham, Tibet. They enjoy crossing a stream, drinking from it as they go. They all have bells around their necks, while the young baby Yaks are particularly cute! A herd of Tibetan yaks (Bos grunniens) grazes in a meadow of yellow wild flowers with a fresh water pond. A bull is wallowing in the dry mud while some are taking a dip in the freshwater body nearby. The herd consists of bulls, females, and calves. The yaks cross the freshwater body. Tourist cars are parked around the meadow on a sunny day. Yaks are an important part of nomadic life in Tibet. Products from yaks feed, clothe and provide for nomadic families in Tibet.
