Jamadhars are Indian Punch Daggers. The Jamadhar is a style of weapon found exclusively in India. During the 1500s and 1600s it was one of the most popular and common weapons to carry. The Jamadhar is defined by its unique H-shaped handle that was meant to be gripped in a fist. When in a fight this special hilt would protect the wearer's hand and forearms. JaiVilas Palace was constructed by Maharaja Jayaji Rao scindia in 1874 at a cost of Rs. One crore. It is a fine example of Europian architecture, designed and built by Sir Michael Filose. Filose was rewarded with a well-deserved knighthood. It is particularly famous for its large Durbar Hall.
