Last year Kashmir had a population of one lakh forty thousand Hindus. In the last six months, more than one lakh Hindus had fled their homes. Many with just their clothes on their backs. Several pockets of Hindu population such as Rainawari, Habba Kadal and Karanagar had become ghost towns. There were numerous pressures that forced the Hindus to leave, children had no schools to go to, colleges were closed. Weeks of the curfew had converted homes into prisons often without electricity. This footage is part of the broadcast stock footage archive of Wilderness Films India Ltd., the largest collection of HD imagery from South Asia.
