The top part and a close up of the Victoria Memorial on Chowringhee Road in Kolkata. The Marble monument was built and opened in the early 1900's as a memorial to Queen Victoria during the British Colonial Rule in India. Closeups of sections of the building show damage due to environmental and human factors. The repair work for the memorial is underway. Officials of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) speak about the extent of damage to the building, the factors contributing to the damage and the process of the repair work going on at the memorial.
