The Delhi of yore, when the Indraprastha power plant still belched smoke into the city's air, when black and yellow Ambassador taxis were de rigeur at Five Star hotel porches (and not BMW's and Aston Martins), when diesel buses sent out palls of black smoke, when Ranjeet Hotel was still the place to be seen and the corridors of power were more pure. Jantar Mantar hasn't changed much but the environment around it certainly has. Connaught Place is more congested and the inner circle hasn't seen such sparse traffic for over twenty years. 35 mm still film cameras are no more used either. And no more do you see as many Fiat or Premier Padmini cars on our city roads.
