Inside the school bus that drops the school children home from Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya of Ziro. Going to school in Ziro valley, which is home to the progressive Apatani tribe, is the same as anywhere else in the world. At the same time, for a place as remote as Ziro, the education system is very developed and it has given the population more opportunities in the competitive outside world. Ziro has the highest number of schools in the whole state. The Apatani, or Tanii, are a tribal group of people living in the Ziro valley in the Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh in India. However more Apatanis live outside this valley, making the total population approximately 60,000 all over the state. Apatani women carry out the household chores of gathering both wild and kitchen garden
