Sonia Gandhi, the star campaigner of the Congress party addressed her first public meeting in Delhi at the capital's Ramlila ground. A crowd of over 75,000 waited for more than 5 hours to hear Mrs Gandhi in what was a highly emotional appeal. Later in her speech, Sonia Gandhi attacked BJP's Prime ministerial candidate Atal Bihari Vajpayee for slandering her husband Rajeev Gandhi in the Bufors case.
