After filling the Kalash with water these men move towards the bel tree for further rituals before taking the Kalash as well the tree to the pandal. Bel Baran or Kalaparambho, the ritual performed before the commencement of the puja precedes Chakhyu daan, Amontron and Adibas. The great Mother as the ten-handed Durga is believed to come down from her husbands home on Mount Kailash to her parents' abode on the Himalayas every year for three days, tile 7th, 8th and 9th days of the bright fortnight in the month of Aswina.
