Mehrauli Archaeological Park in New Delhi contains several historic structures representing different periods of Delhi's architectural history. The Pathan Tombs feature a raised stone platform with rectangular masonry grave markers and a 12-pillared open chhatri topped by a ribbed dome. Nearby, Chaumukha Darwaza is a historic stone gateway with a pointed arch and rubble masonry associated with the Delhi Sultanate period. The park also contains a historic Mughal-era horse stable, with a long arched stone corridor and multiple inner chambers. Another architectural feature is an intricately carved Indo-Islamic stucco medallion, with Arabic calligraphy spelling “Allah” at its centre, surrounded by geometric patterns, floral motifs and arabesque designs.
