There's hardly any mainstream leadership involved. On their part, the Badals have pledged support back to the BJP in Delhi elections after issuing a short-lived rhetoric over the CAA/NRC. But ordinary Sikhs, drawn from various parts of India and also visiting the country from overseas, are expressing solidarity with the demonstrators at the Shaheen Bagh. Fed on textbook narratives that the Khalsa was created solely to defend the Hindu faith, some of the far-right trolls have bitterly questioned the Sikhs for feeding the langar, or community meals, to the Muslim protestors. In order to understand the spirit behind the langar, which I am sure most of the right-wing proponents would also have partook of at gurdwaras in full respect, they may like to wean themselves away from cliched explainer
