This huge structure of steel standing on the ground of Hooghly symbolizes the continuous flow of visitors. The third-longest cantilever bridge at the time of its construction, the Howrah Bridge is the sixth-longest bridge of its type in the world. It is made out of 26, 500 tons of steels, a majority of which is a high tensile alloy known as Tiscom that was made and supplied by Tata Steel.
