As one approached the top of Chanshal Pass in Rohru, Himachal Pradesh, and then flies over the ridges around the pass, one notices the white blanket already on the ground, but also the fast approaching black clouds that will soon after shed snow heavily onto the pass and surrounding mountains in the western Himalaya.
