The impressive statue of Garuda stands prominently near the historic Atharanala Bridge, the traditional northern gateway to the sacred city of Puri in Odisha, India. Carved from striking red sandstone, the statue rises about 27 feet high and symbolises devotion and protection. Garuda, the divine mount of Lord Vishnu, is depicted in a powerful kneeling posture with folded hands, welcoming pilgrims entering the holy city.
