India has a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic and multi-religious society. Indians celebrate varied festivals of a wide range of religions. Some of the more important festivals celebrated in India are Diwali, Dusserhra, Eid, Christmas and Holi. These festivals are celebrated with full zeal all over the country. Some festivals are lesser known and thus, may seem unusual to us. The Vishwakarma puja is one such festival. On this day people worship their machinery, equipment and the tools of their professions and here too, there is no dearth of enthusiasm. Vishwakarma puja is the worship of Lord Vishwakarma, the 'Devashilpi' or 'The Architect of Gods'. He is also known as the divine carpenter.
