Maruni dance of the Nepalese performed during Anthurium festival in Mizoram. Maruni is a Nepali Dance of Western and Eastern Nepal, Sikkim and Darjeeling. It is the most famous and oldest dance of Nepalese community residing in this region. The dancers are usually accompanied by a clown who is called 'Dhatu Waray' which means liar but acts as comedian/joker. In of the many forms of Maruni, nine unique instruments are used with the dance and this is called the 'Naumati Baja'. But nowadays,people are not showing interest towards these dances and are becoming busy in their common works to earn a living. It is basically performed at western and mid western hills of Nepal.
