The Tawang War Memorial was constructed to honour the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers in the Kameng sector during the Indo - China War of 1962. The memorial has inscriptions of the names of 2420 Indian soldiers martyred in the Kameng sector as also some of the weapons and ammunition that was used in the war by both sides.
