Shri Kailash Ashram in Uttarakashi with a pujari ringing a ghanti bell and pilgrims coming in to make offerings and pray. Kailash Ashram is one of the oldest and among the first big ashrams in Rishikesh. It is also known as Shri Kailash Brahmvidhya Peeth. Kailash Ashram was established by Swami Dhanraj Giri in 1880. He was following Advaita Vedanta path and was teaching vendanta in Rishikesh. Currently “Acharya Mahamandaleswar Vidhyanand Giri Ji” is head of the ashram since 2007. Kailash Ashram activities include Study of Vedas, Publication and preservation of religious books & initiation to Sanyasa. Ashram has more than 11000 books old book including 900 manuscripts. Ashram also has free homoeopathic medical services & cow shelter. Kailash Ashram only allows Brahmacharis to stay in the As
