The environmental cost of religion! The diesel burned to move water for a ,massive temporary water tank for Ganesh idol immersion, to prevent immersion in the Yamuna river, to prevent water pollution. The plastic sheeting used for a one day water tank! Is it worth the environmental cost, to avoid another environmental cost of pollution? Can religion not be less polluting? Tell us that this polluted water does not make it into the ground water system eventually, thus still causing pollution? Not a sea beach! That enormous water body is man-made, having been made with dozens of bull dozers and excavators, acres of sheets of plastic and hundreds of tankers of water being moved for kilometers.
