The Nasik Pandavleni Caves, located in the Trirashmi hills, comprise a group of 23 caves carved between the 1st century BC and the 3rd century CE, with additional sculptures added till approximately the 6th century. These Buddhist sculptures are significant examples of early Indian rock-cut architecture. This cave - Cave 18 - is a Chaitya of the 1st century BC, commonly used for chanting and meditation and depicting an amalgamation of Indo - Greek architecture. It is the main cave of the Nasik or Trirashmi Caves and lodges idols of Buddha and Bodhisattva.
