Securities and Exchange Board of India has decided to expand by another 2000. The list of stocks to be traded in dematerialized mode. With the completion of this process by March 2001, 98% of scripts will be traded in demat form. SEBI would also ensure that allotment enlisting of shares after a public issue is done on the same day itself in line with international standards. The cabinet committee of disinvestment has decided to go ahead and offer 40% equity to offer strategic partners and 10% each to employees and domestic financial institutions in Air India. The committee has also finalized that foreign investors allowed 26% equity to strategic partners.
