In view of tension in Haryana due to protest by the Jat community demanding reservation, the administration blocked mobile internet services in the town. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar called for an all-party meeting today to discuss the demands of Jat community leaders, who are agitating across the state seeking reservation in government jobs under Other Backward Classes or OBC category, State Agriculture Minister OP Dhankar had said on Thursday after an emergency Cabinet meeting. Violence broke out during the protest in Rohtak. Traders and advocates clashed outside a court in the town in which several vehicles were also damaged.
