Bamboo stick frames of Ravana in the making as Delhi welcomes Navratri

Workers work with bamboo sticks to make frames for Ravana effigies on the sidewalks in west Delhi. Hindus gear up to celebrate Lord Rama's victory over the Lankan demon king Ravana in the Ramayana. The bamboo sticks are made to bend in desired shapes to depict the ten-headed demon king Ravana. Round bamboo structures for the eyes, curved ones for the moustache, etc,. The finished effigies will be put up for sale as believers buy them to be burnt down as a sign of triumph of good against evil.
