Rafting in Teesta river at Kalimpong is fast evolving as a popular adventure sport in West Bengal. Tourists wearing life jacket can be seen. Life jackets are must while going for river rafting. One of the most recreational and adventurous outdoor activities of all - River Rafting. Considered an extreme sport, the level of risk can vary from minimal to a lot depending on the run that one is undertaking. It is also known as white water rafting. To envigorate the raft passenger it is usually done on white water or rough waters of different degrees. It became popular as a leisure sport since the mid 70's.
