Thousands of devotees in Birla Mandir at the time of Janmastami in New Delhi. People of Delhi celebrate Janmashtami with great vigor and enthusiasm. They visit various Lord Krishna temples and offer special puja on this day. At the crack of the dawn, people take holy bath and prepare for the grand puja event celebration. They give holy bath to the idol of Lord Krishna and offer bhog. Besides, they also decorate the temples and their temples at home. They deck up the houses with several Janmashtami bands, streamers and 'Shubh Janmashtami' strips. They also purchase a silver or golden baby Krishna idol to rock him in the cradle.
