Hot sulfur / sulphur water boils up in this spring at Yamunotri temple. Pilgrims and devotees bathe in this water that wells up from the womb of the Himalaya, to wash away their ills near the high altitude temple that lies at the source of the Yamuna river that eventually joins the Ganga or Ganges river. The sulphur is said to cure a range of sicknesses. Sort of like the Japanese Snow Monkeys in the hot water springs in winter? Yamunotri is one of the Char Dham and it is also first place to visit in the Char Dham Circuit. Thousands of devotees visit the sacred shrine of Yamunotri temple, Uttarakhand. Yamunotri Temple is situated in the western region of Garhwal Himalayas at an altitude of 3,291 metres (10,797 ft) in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand.The temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna
