How to wrap a Tibetan Chupa or Chuba womens' dress

The chupa is the traditional dress of Tibet. The female chupa is a long, ankle-length dress made out of a variety of fabrics, and underneath it, one wears something called a woon-juk, which is an open shirt that is folded up into the chupa. To wear a chupa, first you have to put the shirt on, which is completely open. You put the dress on next.Then you must fold the right half of the shirt over a right panel that hits the bosom, and tie the panel to the inside of the outfit. Then, fold the left half of the woon-juk over the left panel, and pull the left panel over the rest of the bosom. The straps will go around the front once, and then you tie the straps in the back .It creates an inverted “V” in the back of the dress. Usually then, girls will tighten that V.
