An artist paints a wall of Rumtek Monastery in Sikkim. He writes in Sikkimese and decorates walls. See Karma Shri Nalanda Institute at 0:44secs in the clip. Historically, the Karmapa is known for creating Buddhist study institutions. The 6th Karmapa started formal study institutions and by the time of the 8th Karmapa, they were renowned and well regarded. However, since the time of the 10th Karmapa and until the 16th, these formal institutions have ceased to exist and many major works of those Kagyu forefathers were lost.
