Himalayan snowpack runs deep on the Jogin and Gangotri peak ranges, as seen from Rudragaira, with Auden's Col in distance. The hanging glaciers on Jogin are rather awe-inspiring. See the lovely snow field on the summit ridge. No wonder the Himalaya provides so much summer-time snowmelt for the Himalayan originating rivers - so much ice, snow and glaciation do they hold! The meadows below have dried up and turned brown in the post monsoon early winter period. What a corniced top the summit of Rudragaira is, with a saddle of ice to reach it. And what a massive Himalayan glacier lies to the north of Rudragaira peak, fed by the Gangotri range peaks, with fields of wrinkled crevasses across the glacial snow field.
