The assembly elections in the five states Gujarat, Maharashtra, Bihar, Orissa and Arunachal Pradesh will take place in February next year. The election commission announces the poll schedule this week. The commission, however, added that the state government's concern would be required to furnish its certificate to the effect the photo identity cards had been issued to all eligible in the states failing which no polls would be held there. The term of the five assemblies expires in March next year. The government assured Parliament that it would table a revised action report on the joint parliamentary committee's findings of the bank securities scandal by the 20th of this month. This followed the opposition attempt to stole the proceedings over this issue on the opening day of Parliament's
