In front of the Taj Mahal's east gate the Agra Development Authority is using is using battery operated vehicles for the transport of tourists in the green zone i.e. near Taj Mahal and other heritage buildings. Diesel and petrol vehicle are not permitted in the Taj Mahal area, tourists can find battery-operated buses, horse-driven tongas, rickshaws and other pollution-free vehicles there.
